She began her career in 1990 as a reporter and part-time news anchor at CHEK-TV in Victoria before moving to CHAN-TV (BCTV, later CTV Vancouver) in 1992. In 1998, she became co-anchor of the 6:00 PM news on CIVT-TV (then VTV). Later, she took over hosting and producing the 11:30 PM news on CTV Vancouver.
